Connecting a KageAI Agent to Your Local Machine
Understand Remote Control, current client availability, and how to protect local access credentials.
Remote Control connects Agent mode to a computer you control. KageAI can use that computer's terminal and files only through a connection you start with the official client.
Where setup will live
- Open your user menu and select Settings.
- Select Remote Control to manage connections and the access token.
- Use the connect command shown there. The in-product command is the source of truth.
- Select the connected computer as the execution environment before starting an Agent task.

Security boundary
- Connect only a computer you own or are authorized to operate.
- Treat the generated access token as a password. Never paste it into a task, support message, issue, log, or shared script.
- Reset the token from Remote Control settings immediately if it is exposed. Resetting it stops existing connections.
- Review the selected execution environment before approving commands or file changes.
